One has to realize that the purpose of said codenames serves many different functions:

1) To spotlight a tactical disability (Cyclops)
2) To inform one's enemies of your abilities (Storm, Juggernaut)
3) A veiled reference to one's place of origin (Roulette, Dominion)
4) Or my personal favorite, making no sense whatsoever. "Cable"? Well, I suppose if you're going for the "six hundred channels and nothing interesting's on" metaphor. Or "Nightcrawler"? (Yes, I know that's what they called you in the circus. Dude, over here? It's fishing bait.)

Hence why I have eschewed the tradition, myself.
