Mostly it's the fact that sudden traumatic transmutation of my Y chromosome into a second X doesn't seem to be a valid excuse for missing class.

I'm spending most of my days trying to get used to this new frame. Gotta re-learn how to stand, how to move.

You lookin' for a little supplemental sometime, come look me up. Hear you can read body-language, see moves before they happen.

Might make a fun challenge.

Wasn't quite as bad for me, but then I didn't have an adamantium-laced skeleton get spontaneously changed as part of my little adventure, so yeah.

You're also not as good as I am.

Not bragging, just fact. A lot of what I do depends on precise balance and body-control.

All of that falls apart when your hips move wide, you drop six inches of height, and you lose significant muscle mass just about everywhere. Only upside is that a lot of my nerve meridians moved as well.

Almost not worth trying to readjust, but I got nothin' better to do.

"I need to call out of class this evening, sir."
"Douglas? You sound different. What happened?"
"It's a weird mutant thing, sir, it'd be hard to explain."
"Try me, Douglas."
"...Igotturnedintoawoman."
"Beg pardon?"
"I got turned into a woman. Spontaneous transmutation of my Y chromosome into a second X."
"...I see. Are you injured?"
"Sir?"
"Aside from the sudden change in sex, are you physically unable to attend class?"
"...no sir."
"Then I will see you in half an hour when class begins, Douglas."
