The movie was awesome! Had a great time with everyone.

Magic tournament tomorrow! (or later today, if you want to be semantically correct)

Lorna's making waffles for breakfast!

Am awake and wired! As was probably obvious by the overuse of exclamation marks! :)

Will probably stay awake for a while yet, or at least until I get tired enough to get some sleep. Anyone who happens to still be awake is more than welcome to drop by. :)

The Magic Doug's talking about is a nerdy card game. Make believe. Proper magic's hard, and you tend to need to have a gift for it - everyone's got the potential, but not always the ability to learn it.

*counts to ten* Harry and his friends are a pack of wankers also make believe. Magic don't necessarily need wands and all that shite. So no, I don't have one.

I could probably float cnadles for you tho' - levitation's easy enough.

Hey!

I resent that. I am not a nerd. I am not even sure if Doug is a nerd anymore. He does nerd things, but how many nerds do you know who own leather pants and have earrings?

You sit around and play with cards that have monsters and elves and such on them. I just said the game was nerdy, not the players. Think you're protesting too much there, Frenchie.

You know, I cannot even blame not being a native English speaker on this one.

Monsters and elves and skeletons. Miles will be very, very upset if we forget his skeletons, because his helped him win the last time he played Doug and he is very proud of himself.

You're making this too easy, Frenchie. Besides, I was trying really hard not to go all frog-spell on Jane, after the Harry Potter thing. Think I've grown as a person, or some such guff, right? ;)

And skeletons, right. Can't forget the skeletons.

I temper my tendency to do nerd things with my ability to wear leather pants at a club without looking stupid or feeling embarassed.

Jane is not a shapeshifter, strictly speaking, so the spell should not work on her, right? She might turn into a frog-shaped cloud. That could be interesting...

I am told by a small green boy that the skeletons are very, very important.

That you do. You definitely don't look stupid or embarrassed in those suede pants of yours. *grins*

As for Jane... That is an interesting idea. Not sure I want to try it tho' - she's sort of a shapeshifter, and fuck knows what would happen, even if she said okay to the experiment.

All small boys think skeletons are important. Those and dinosaurs and sharks.

I have the feeling Doug agrees with you, as he is reading over my shoulder, and nodding and grinning like a loon.

and -bugs- it seems. Has Miles shown you Ed The Cicada yet?

Boy's got taste. *grins*

And yes, I've met Ed. Miles came by to get me to promise Frank wouldn't eat him. That's one big ugly bug - perfect for a small boy. ;)

And pants of his own. :) Yum.

Miles loves Ed. I wonder if Ed and Manuel have met? The red eyes and all, I would be suprised if he had not introduced them.

*snorts and leaves you two to it*

Um, I'm not sure. Manny's power works on animals, sort of - you should see him and Frank together, it's a right laugh - but if he started reacting to the whole cicada orgy that's going on out there, I think I'd have noticed. ;)

I saw Manuel use his power on horses once. It was ... actually, a tad distressing at the time.

I am just suprised that Miles has not introduced Ed to Manny yet. He seemed quite intent on introducing his new bug friend to everyone else. Took me quite by suprise with it.

He did? Oh yeah, the fire. An' that wasn't long after... Ah. *backs away from the difficult topic* Miles might well have introduced them, I just haven't heard 'bout it. Contrary to popular belief, we don't share everything. *wry grin*

You forgot emotions and the occasional dream. Apparently the link's getting deeper and we're starting to get into each other's heads. It's... unsettling. But the magic's still my own, tho'. ;)

Someday they're going to give Manuel a roommate, and won't -that- be awkward?

Not if _I_ have anything to say about it...

I have it on good authority that I'm completely insufferable. And I'd hate to leak all over this hypoth - this pretend-roommate.

Could be downright tragic.

I'm also at a delicate juncture in learning control.

I will _find_ a way. I like living on my own. It's not like we don't have a dozen or more unused rooms - it's silly to make people quad-up when entire _wings_ of this house go unused.

Are you and Manuel going to be allright?

We're getting used to it. Mostly. They just stepped down the dampener again, so we get the whole fun with him mirroring me again, but we're sorting that out. And he's working hard to get it under control.

It's odd, I thought I'd be a lot more freaked out by the idea of having someone in my head, but I'm not. It's... sort of nice, actually.

Is THAT what he was so happy about the other day? He was practically skipping around. Not that Manuel would skip, of course.

I can kind of see that it might be reassuring. It would certainly give one the chance to remove some doubts...

*snorts* Yep, that was why. And no, he doesn't skip, but that was pretty damn close. Sort of cute, but you didn't hear that from me. ;)

Yeah, 's good especially with the dreams. Tho' it does set up a whole bunch of new doubts in exchange for the old ones. *wry grin* Still, I wouldn't want it gone.

I think I could probably force my cloudform into the shape of a frog anyway.

I know Harry Potter isn't real, but I thought some of the stuff might have some basis in reality...? Guess not. But it would be cool if you could float candles!

No messing with the frog spell - learnt me lesson last time.

The thing about magic is, most people won't believe it's real. Messes with their world view or something. Of course, we don't exactly advertise, either, mainly because the Salem witch-hunts weren't that long ago, and all that was just too much wacky ergot fungus from mouldy rye bread. Real witches and such tend to wig people out - except when it's in a kid's book, that is.

The other part is that magic is hard, and pretty dangerous - Harry Potter gets up me nose because it makes it look as easy as waving a stick around. :P

Candles - let me know when and where and I'll float them to your heart's content. *grins*
