Since everyone else is doing it...

Might as well post my schedule here for safekeeping and so forth.

Maths- Dr. McCoy
Hey Doc, any chance of getting started on differential equations this semester if I'm running ahead in calculus?

Physics- Dr. McCoy
Bio? Chemistry? Bleh. Give me a good hard science any day of the week.

CompSci- Dr. McCoy
Is anyone detecting a theme yet? Math Math Math Science Science indeed, Kitty.

Beginning Self Defense- Mr. Wisdom
Because I'd rather not repeat that experience in the mall, thanks.

Intro to Mechanical Engineering- Mr. Summers
Didn't get a chance to take it last semester, but am really excited about it.

Communications- Ms. Blaire
Why yes, this is an obvious choice for me and my mutation, isn't it?

Psychology- Ms. Braddock
See above re: communications.

Also, this is a sort of open announcement to anyone who is interested in learning sign language so they can communicate with Artie better that I'm willing to tutor anyone who wants in American Sign Language. At least, as long as it's all right with the faculty. Everyone who's interested, let me know, and we'll try and find a good time for it.

Remind me Doug - your gift extends, to an extent, to body languge?

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
To an extent. It's fairly imperfect, and I can read some people better than others, depending on the situation.

Why do you ask?

[identity profile] x-pete.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
A thought I had about self-defense, and how some more formal fighting styles might be considered as adopting a different body language, and whether or not your gifts would respond in any way to it. I think we might want to get you to watch Logan going through a few katas and the like, and find out if your genetics wake up in response, just to see if there's anything you might be better served learning, at least as a grounding.

This could all be complete madness on my part, but it was something that crossed my mind...

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. I'd never thought of it that way. It's certainly worth a shot.

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
You disdain Chem as a science and are taking Psych? For shame, Doug, for shame.

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
*shrug* It relates to my mutation.

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, and makes perfect sense. I'm just saying you can't pooh pooh Chem and not expect me to give you grief over taking a social science.

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-01-18 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Why can't I? Where does it say that I have to be logical and fair? Nowhere! *grins*

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-01-18 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
I shall sick the cutest of our room mates on you, then, and they shall torment you endlessly.

:p

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-01-18 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Miles needs more practice with the endless torment, yeah. Good call. :)

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-01-18 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Artie and 'Yana have taken him under their wing for training, haven't they?

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-01-19 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. I'm handling that personally, as a special favor, sort of, to Alison. Because her kid deserves to be the absolute best mischief-maker he can be, y'know? But Artie and 'Yana are my Special Deputies In Charge Of Looking Cute And Innocent, what with them being lots better at that than I am, so they can teach it better.

He's a fast learner, too, I'm just waiting for the opportunity to give him a final exam on the old whipped-cream-and-feather-and-sleeping-person gag before we get into the really fun stuff. Such an amazing opportunity, passing on the wisdom of the ages to the younger generation. Brings tears to my eyes. Mostly because I'm laughing so hard.

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-01-19 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
*grin*

Just a big kid yourself, sometimes. Love you.

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-01-19 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's a little bit more often than "sometimes," don't you? :) Not boring, though, gotta give me that. Also, love you too. A lot. Yay for the win-win.

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Miles and I are up for the Sign Language teaching. :)

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-01-18 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
I had a hunch. :) I wonder if enough people are interested, if I could finagle some sort of credit out of Xavier for it.
